Porcelain Picks MLB | Monday, August 11th - Bankroll Build Day 1

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

The $500 bankroll build officially starts tonight. Three plays on the card, all with FanDuel boosts applied where the math already had edge and the boost sharpened it further. Let's get to work.

Bankroll Snapshot

  • Starting Bankroll: $500

  • Today's Exposure: $150 (30% of bankroll)

  • Max Profit if All Cash: +$271 (bankroll to $771)

  • Max Loss if All Miss: -$150 (bankroll to $350)
  • Everson Pereira 2+ Strikeouts (+240, boosted from +200)

Wager: $25 to win $60 profit

Cristopher Sanchez is going for the Phillies against the Cardinals, and Pereira has an ugly K profile against lefties: 40.0% vs LHP this year (30 PA) and 47.2% last year (36 PA). Sanchez's K rate to RHB is more modest at 24.5%, but blending Pereira's individual K rate against LHP with Sanchez's profile gets us to roughly 38% per PA. Pereira is batting 8th so 3-4 PAs are realistic. Over 3.5 PAs at 38%, the 2+ K probability lands around 40%. The boosted +240 line only requires ~29% to break even. That's real edge on a hitter whose contact issues against lefties look structural, not sample noise.

Joc Pederson 1+ HR (+420, boosted from +280 with 50% profit boost)

Wager: $25 to win $105 profit

Ryan Johnson is a gas can for the Angels tonight: 2.2 HR/9 to LHB, 16.3% HR/FB, extreme fly ball lean (0.79 GB/FB). Pederson has the best HR profile in the Rangers lineup by a wide margin:

  • 23.5% HR/FB (highest in the lineup)

  • .511 SLG

  • .370 wOBA

  • 44.9% hard hit rate (elite)

  • Leadoff spot for maximum PAs
  • Blending Pederson's HR/FB with Johnson's fly ball problems, true HR probability lands around 27-30% for the game. The 50% profit boost turns +280 into effectively +420, which prices in at 19.2% implied probability. That's an ~8% edge on the best HR profile in this lineup against a pitcher who gives up bombs in bunches to lefties.

Paul Skenes 7+ Strikeouts (+106, boosted from -142 with 50% profit boost)

Wager: $100 to win $106 profit

This is where the boost creates the biggest value shift on the card. Skenes is running elite K rates (29.0% vs LHB, 32.6% vs RHB) into a Marlins lineup stacked with high-K bats against right-handed pitching:

  • Owen Caissie 36.7% K rate

  • Griffin Conine 30.8%

  • Heriberto Hernandez 29.2%

  • Esteury Ruiz 27.0%

  • Joe Mack 24.4%
  • Blending Skenes' splits with the Marlins lineup gets us to roughly 26.5% K rate per PA, which projects to 6-7 Ks in 5-6 innings and 7-8 in 7 innings. The game log seals it. Over his last 7 starts, Skenes has hit 7+ Ks in 5 of them:

  • 7/7 vs ATL: 13 K in 6.0 IP

  • 7/25 vs CHC: 11 K in 5.1 IP

  • 7/19 @ CLE: 8 K in 7.0 IP

  • 7/31 @ CIN: 7 K in 4.0 IP

  • 7/12 vs MIL: 7 K in 5.1 IP
  • His July K/9 pace was 14.5. Miami is also striking out 9.00 times per game over their last 3 and posted 12 Ks in their most recent game. The unboosted -142 line was fair. Boosted to +106, this becomes a max-value spot on a pitcher whose game-log floor is elite. Biggest single ticket on the card because the math and the boost line up perfectly.

    Where We're At

$150 wagered, $500 starting bankroll, $350 remaining until bets settle. If all three cash, we're sitting at $771 heading into tomorrow. If none cash, we're at $350 with plenty of runway to build back.
